While living in Tijuana in 2006 I was held up by a deputised swat team with M16s for wandering through a power plant on my way to the beach, kicked out of the country by the police for photographing the notorious red light district and narrowly escaped a shooting while planning an illegal border run into the US with a local coyote and friend. These pictures capture a lighter shade of Tijuana’s dark nature.
